Saberbloom , archival giclée print of original charcoal and pastel drawing, 2025.
Saberbloom is a drawing of smilodon skull - aka sabertooth tiger - with a cactus flower blooming from the eye socket. Sabertooth tiger remnants are found in the tar pits of southern California & the south/central Americas, with the desert cactus flower finding a home in several of these locations. The past & present combine together in this fierce & powerful drawing.
